A Legacy of Soil & Sea

The Art of Vergenoegd Wine

Our wines are defined by a unique geological heritage. Situated on an ancient seabed less than 5km from the Atlantic, our vines thrive in rare, lime-rich soils dense with marine fossils. This unique maritime terroir, cooled by constant ocean breezes, allows for a slow ripening process. The result is a collection of wines defined by exceptional depth, signature salinity, and a refined precision that honours centuries of tradition.

Regenerative Harmony

We believe that great wine begins with the health of the soil. By farming regeneratively, we nurture our natural assets. Our famous Indian Runner ducks act as natural pest controllers, while Dexter cattle manage weeds and fertilise the land.

This biodiversity creates resilient vines and healthy grapes, allowing for a low-intervention approach in the cellar where the fruit takes centre stage to tell the story of the land.

Elegant restraint from the Atlantic coast.

Geography is our greatest advantage. Being located less than 5km from the sea, Vergenoegd Löw remains approximately 3°C cooler than the Stellenbosch average. These maritime conditions, combined with granitic and sandstone soils, result in wines that are elegant, restrained, and beautifully balanced.

With over 50 hectares under vine, our portfolio expresses a sophisticated cool-climate character within the heart of the Cape Winelands

A tasting journey across the estate.

We invite our guests to explore our collection through a tasting experience unlike any other. Rather than a single cellar door, Vergenoegd Löw offers unique locations across the estate to discover our wines.

From the historic Homestead to the serene beauty of the vineyards, each station tells a different chapter of our craft, offering distinct ways to experience the heart of our viticulture.
